Our Story
Fostering interCultural and Interdisciplinary dialogues
「流白之間Blank Space Studio」於2014年成立，香港非牟利表演藝團及場域空間，以「alternative art centre」為願景，希望建構一個讓各個藝術單位、文化研究者的相互撞擊交流、鼓動合作的平台。
我們觀察到香港藝壇陷入圍繞表演節目為重的現實形態，卻未能重新貫穿藝術家亦同時為文化工作者的身份。我們認為作為一名文化工作者，應該對社會文化議題有一定敏銳度，以及能夠適時作出回應的行動。但是在向外探視社會文化時，我們亦需要向自己內心觀照。
故此我們積極引入外地的藝術家，促成不同地方的藝術家的相互學習和跨文化交流，亦策展不同的與表演的相關文化活動，鼓動表演藝術家在藝術探索上為香港藝壇文化圈帶來新氣象之外，也再藉此找尋個人和文化等不同角度來審視表演藝術的本質。
"Blank Space Studio" was established in 2014 as a non-profit performing arts company and space in Hong Kong, envisioning itself as an "alternative art centre." It aims to create a platform for the interaction and collaboration of various art entities and cultural researchers.
We have observed that the Hong Kong arts scene has become overly focused on performance programs, neglecting the dual role of artists as cultural workers. We believe that as cultural workers, we should possess a certain sensitivity to social and cultural issues and be able to take timely action in response. However, while looking outward to engage with societal culture, we also need to reflect inwardly.
Therefore, we actively invite artists from abroad to facilitate mutual learning and cross-cultural exchange among artists from different regions. We curate various culturally relevant events related to performance, encouraging overseas performing artists to bring fresh perspectives to Hong Kong's cultural scene. This process helps to explore the essence of performing arts from different angles, including personal and cultural viewpoints.
